Abstracts, Poster & Oral presentations
Abstract preparationAuthors who wish to deliver an oral presentation or a poster must submit an Abstract written in English. The recommended length of an abstract is between 300 words and three A4 pages, including the title of the contribution, authors, their affiliation, up to 5 keywords and references. If necessary for a better delivery of the scientific content, an abstract can include figures and tables. Text should be written in Times New Roman, size 12, double-spaced and with 2.5 cm margins on all sides of the page.
If a communication has more than one author, the presenting author should be underlined and accompanied with full name, address, phone and fax number and e-mail. An abstract will be published in the Conference Proceedings only if presented as oral or poster presentation by one of the co-authors.
Notification of Abstract delivery and acceptanceAbstracts must be submitted using the online Abstract Submission Form at the latest by Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Notification of the successful delivery will be e-mailed to authors immediately after submission.
All abstracts will be peer-reviewed and authors will be notified about the decision by e-mail at the latest on Friday, June 23, 2017.
Abstract submissions have been closed.
Presentations must be saved in MS PowerPoint format (ppt, pptx) or as a pdf; no other formats are acceptable without permission. If you wish to save your presentation in a different format, please contact the organizers.
A laptop will be provided for all conference sessions. All presentations will have to be uploaded to it in advance. No own laptops will be allowed for presentations.
If your presentation requires a large-scale streaming, please notify the organizers.
An option to publish a full article in Reforesta
If you deliver an oral or poster presentation, you are invited to submit a longer version of your contribution to Reforesta – an open access, peer-reviewed online journal published by the Scientific and Professional Society Reforesta, which publishes original papers on the fundamental and applied aspects of tree improvement, plant production and quality, and afforestation/reforestation.
The full article should reflect the title and content of the conference contribution submitted as an abstract and should be longer and more detailed. The deadline for submission is October 15, 2017. Upon review, selected articles will constitute a special issue of Reforesta, with a tentative title “Supplementary Proceedings of the IUFRO Seed Orchard Conference 2017”.
The reason for the supplementary proceedings is to encourage publication of seed orchard studies, to keep articles related to seed orchards together and to offer an additional channel for sharing information with a wider auditorium interested in reforestation where seed orchards play a key role. We recommend submitting your article to Reforesta near the time you submit an abstract to the conference proceedings, but not later than October 15, 2017.
More information about the journal and instructions for authors can be found at http://journal.reforestationchallenges.org/index.php/REFOR. The conditions and review process will be the same as for other submissions to the journal.
